Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong Kam-sing, on air quality after attending the Better Air Quality 2012 conference this morning (December 5):

Reporter: Hong Kong has been very slow in specifically implementing its measures to improve its air quality. How do you show ...?

Secretary for the Environment: As mentioned by our Chief Executive in his first address to the Legislative Council earlier, cleaner air is really our top priority in terms of environmental policy. We would like to have a stronger, more effective policy on this for public health. So we will probably launch a new initiative very soon, probably he would announce something in his policy address.

Reporter: Very soon means the next few weeks?

Secretary for the Environment: In his policy address in January, he would address the clean air concerns in a more effective way. Thank you.
