Results of Basic Law Souvenir Design Competition announced(with photo)

The following is issued on behalf of the Working Group on Industrial, Commercial and Professional Sectors under the Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee:

     The Basic Law Souvenir Design Competition for the industrial, commercial and professional sectors has successfully concluded. The awards presentation ceremony was held this afternoon (December 2) at the Basic Law Carnival 2012 at Sha Tin Town Hall Plaza.

     This competition was organised by the Working Group on Industrial, Commercial and Professional Sectors under the Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee, and was supported by the Hong Kong Design Centre. As 2012 marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and is also designated as Hong Kong Design Year, the competition aimed to enhance interest in and understanding of the Basic Law among the sectors and the community at large, as well as to promote creative designs.

     The winner and the first runner-up were Mr Roy Chan and Mr Ng Chun-kit respectively while the second runners-up were Mr Chau Kai-chun and Miss Chau Hiu-tung.

     "We are glad to see that the entries were creatively designed and the participants have demonstrated the elements of the Basic Law in their designs. The Working Group will continue to organise various promotional activities with a view to further enhancing the understanding of the Basic Law among the industrial, commercial and professional sectors," the Working Group's spokesman said.
