Appointments to Standing Committee on Disciplined Services Salaries and Conditions of Service

     The Government today (November 30) announced that the Chief Executive has re-appointed Mr Barry Cheung Chun-yuen as the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Disciplined Services Salaries and Conditions of Service for another term of two years from January 1, 2013, to December 31, 2014.

     The Chief Executive has re-appointed Mrs Margaret Leung Ko May-yee, Ms Teresa Ko Yuk-yin, Ms Caroline Mak Sui-king and Miss Melissa Wu as members of the Standing Committee for a term of two years from January 1, 2013. Mrs Margaret Leung Ko May-yee is also concurrently re-appointed as the Chairman of the Police Sub-Committee of the Standing Committee.

     In addition, the Chief Executive has appointed Ir James Kwan Yuk-choi and Mr Thomas Wu as new members to the Standing Committee from January 1, 2013, to December 31, 2014, and appointed Professor Richard Ho Yan-ki, an incumbent member of the Standing Committee, as the Chairman of the General Disciplined Services Sub-Committee from January 1, 2013, to December 31, 2013.

     The Government expresses gratitude to Mr Michael Lee Tze-hau and Dr David Wong Yau-kar, who will retire from the Standing Committee on December 31, 2012, for their valuable contributions to the work of the Committee over the years.

     The Standing Committee advises the Government on matters relating to the salaries and conditions of service of the disciplined services. It is currently under the chairmanship of Mr Barry Cheung Chun-yuen. Other serving members of the Standing Committee are Mr William Chan Fu-keung and Mr Horace Cheung Kwok-kwan.
