Attempted murder in Tung Chung and murder in Tai Po

     Police are investigating an attempted murder case in Tung Chung yesterday (November 29) afternoon and a murder case in Tai Po on November 28 in which a 20-year-old man was injured and a 24-year-old woman died respectively.    

     About 3pm yesterday, Police received a report that a 30-year-old man assaulted his 20-year-old male colleague with a chopper outside a residential building at 12 Tung Chung Waterfront Road.

     Police sped to the scene and located the 20-year-old victim. Sustaining cut wounds to his head and neck, he was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in conscious state. The 30-year-old man was subsequently arrested for attempted murder.

     During the course of investigation, Police found the 30-year-old man was suspected to have attacked a 24-year-old woman at a flat in Kui Wo House, Tai Wo Estate, Tai Po on November 28.

     Police sped to the scene and found the woman was lying unconsciously on a bed inside the flat. She sustained multiple stab wounds to her back and was certified dead at scene by ambulancemen. A knife was seized at scene.

     The 30-year-old man was arrested for attempted murder and murder and will be detained overnight for further enquiries.

     A post mortem examination will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death of the deceased.

     Active investigations by District Crime Squad of Tai Po are underway.
