The Secretary for Security, Mr Lai Tung-kwok, continued his visit to Beijing today (November 27).
Mr Lai made a courtesy call on the Ministry of Public Security this morning and met with the Minister of Public Security, Mr Meng Jianzhu. Mr Lai updated Mr Meng on the latest law and order situation in Hong Kong and exchanged views with him on matters of common concern.
Mr Lai then visited the General Administration of Customs and met with the Minister of the General Administration of Customs, Mr Yu Guangzhou.
The Secretary for Security also made courtesy calls yesterday on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme People's Court, meeting the Vice Foreign Minister, Mr Xie Hangsheng; the Procurator-General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, Mr Cao Jianming; and the Vice President of the Supreme People's Court, Mr Jiang Bixin.
Mr Lai will continue his trip tomorrow and return to Hong Kong on Thursday (November 29).
