Transcript of remarks by CE (with video)
****************************************

Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, at a media standup before attending an exchange session on women's issues at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre this afternoon (November 24):

Reporter: Can you say a few words in English?

Chief Executive: I apologise to the people of Hong Kong for the carelessness in handling, firstly, the purchase of the property 13 years ago and secondly, not realising sooner the existence of unauthorised building works in my houses. But I did apply in the years 1999 and 2000 for alterations and additions to the two houses. There were about six additions and alterations and one or two were actually quite minor. It was at the time of my purchase of the two houses. That underlined my commitment to following the Buildings Ordinance and Building Regulations in Hong Kong. And there is no question of me not following the rules or contravening the Building Regulations. Thank you.
