Vacancy in Islands District Council

The Government declared by notice in the Gazette today (November 23) the existence of a vacant ex officio seat in the Islands District Council.
The office was held by the late Mr Cheung Kwok-kwong, an ex officio member who passed away on November 15. In accordance with section 18 of the District Councils Ordinance (Cap. 547), the office has become vacant.
The Tung Chung Rural Committee will elect its new chairman to hold office as an ex officio member in that member's place.
