The Broadcast Codes of Practice Committee of the Communications Authority will hold an open meeting on November 22. The meeting will discuss the proposed amendments to the TV and Radio codes of practice on programme and advertising standards in respect of the following subjects:
(a) placement of commercial references within programmes on channels acquired for direct re-transmission on domestic free television programme services;
(b) identification requirements for television advertisements adopting a programme style; and
(c) applicability of aggregate advertising time limits to promos for advertisements.
The meeting will take place at 10am in the conference room of the Office of the Communications Authority, 39/F, Revenue Tower, 5 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai. It will be conducted in Cantonese.
Members of the public are welcome to attend the meeting as observers. As seats are limited, they will be available on a first come, first served basis. Interested parties should make prior reservations. For enquiries or seat reservations, please call 2594 5795.
The Communications Authority conducted a public consultation from September 20 to October 11, 2012 to gauge public views on the proposed amendments to the above mentioned subjects.
