Wounding case in Aberdeen reclassified as attempted murder and attempted suicide

     Police today (November 15) reclassified a wounding case in Aberdeen as attempted murder and attempted suicide.

     At about 7.15 am, Police received a report from a 53-year-old woman that there were persons injured in a flat on 45 Yue Kwong Road, Aberdeen.

     Police officers sped to the scene and found an 85-year-old woman, sustaining head, chest and arm injuries, lying unconsciously in the living room of that flat. She was suspected to have been attacked by a vegetable knife. Her 86-year-old husband was emotional and attempted to commit suicide by jumping off the flat but was immediately held by Police. He sustained arm injuries. The two persons were rushed to Queen Mary Hospital for medical treatment.

     A vegetable knife in suspected connection with the case was seized at scene.

     The man was later arrested in suspected connection with the case and is being detained for further enquiries

     Active investigations by Western District Crime Squad are underway.
