Special traffic arrangements in Central District and Causeway Bay for carnival and parade

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements from November 17 to November 19 to facilitate the holding of a carnival in Central District and a parade in Causeway Bay.

Central District
-----------------

     A section of D'Augilar Street between Wyndham Street and Wellington Street; and
Lan Kwai Fong will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 7am on November 17 to 4am on November 19.


Causeway Bay

Road Closure

     The following roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic from about 2.30 pm onwards on November 18 until the crowd has dispersed:

- Great George Street;
- Westbound Kingston Street; and
- A section of Paterson Street between Kingston Street and Great George Street.

     The following roads may be closed to all vehicular traffic at anytime if necessary:

- Sugar Street;
- Cleveland Street;
- Eastbound Kingston Street;
- A section of Paterson Street between Gloucester Road and Kingston Street;
- A section of Gloucester Road between Causeway Road and Gloucester Road service road;
- The U-turn slip road between southbound and northbound Gloucester Road; and/or
- Southbound Tai Hang Road flyover.

Traffic Diversion

     The following traffic diversion will be implemented from 2.30 pm onwards on November 18 until the crowd has dispersed:
- Traffic along southbound Cleveland Street cannot turn right to westbound Kingston Street;
- Traffic along southbound Paterson Street must turn left to eastbound Kingston Street; and
- Traffic along northbound Gloucester Road cannot turn left to westbound Kingston Street.

     The following traffic diversions may be implemented at anytime if necessary:

- Traffic along eastbound Yee Wo Street cannot turn left to Sugar Street;
- Traffic along westbound Gloucester Road service road cannot turn left to Cleveland Street;
- Traffic along westbound Gloucester Road service road cannot turn left to southbound Paterson Street;
- Traffic along eastbound Victoria Park Road flyover cannot turn right to southbound Gloucester Road. Vehicles heading for Tai Hang will be diverted via eastbound Victoria Road, Wing Hing Street, King¡¦s Road and Tung Lo Wan Road; and/or
- Traffic along southbound Victoria Park Road flyover will be diverted to turn right to westbound Gloucester Road service road.

     The Public Light Bus stand at Sugar Street and the taxi stands at Paterson Street will be temporarily suspended from 2.30 pm until the crowd has dispersed and traffic resumes normal.

     All car parks within the road closure area will be suspended from 2.30 pm until the crowd is dispersed and the road closure is lifted. Vehicles will not be permitted to leave or access the car parks within the affected areas until the roads are re-opened to traffic.

     Any vehicles found illegally parked within the precinct of the special traffic arrangements specified above would be towed away without prior notice.

     Actual implementation of special traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic conditions in the areas. Motorists are advised to drive with care and patience and follow the instruction of the Police at scene.
