Budding artists to launch District Cantonese Opera Parade in December
************************************************************

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the annual performances for the upcoming District Cantonese Opera Parade will begin in December and run through to March 2013.

The District Cantonese Opera Parade seeks to promote Cantonese opera and increase performance opportunities for budding and amateur Cantonese opera troupes by providing extra financial support, venues and publicity. Since 1988, with the support of various Cantonese opera troupes and the recommendations of five artistic advisors, namely Wan Fai-yin, Wong Chiu-kwan, Sun Kim-long, Lung Kwun-tin and Liu Kwok-sum, many amateur troupes have enhanced their artistic merits by joining the programme.
