The Labour Department will hold a three-day job fair at Lai Kok Community Hall in Cheung Sha Wan from November 7 to 9.
A total of 51 organisations will participate in the job fair. They mainly come from the retail, catering, property management and other community and social services industries, offering a total of over 3,600 vacancies. Seventeen organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment on each day.
The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as floral designer, fitness professional, pet groomer, cross-border driver, landscaping worker, storekeeper, technician, chef, waiter/waitress, shop assistant, cashier, security guard and cleaner. Job seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may visit the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).
About 83 per cent of the vacancies are full-time jobs. The majority of the vacancies offer monthly salaries ranging from $6,000 to $11,000. Around 97 per cent of these vacancies require a Secondary Six education level or below. Around 69 per cent are open to job seekers without relevant experience.
Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot registration for job seekers.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at Lai Kok Community Hall, G/F, Lai Kok Estate, Cheung Sha Wan, Kowloon (MTR Cheung Sha Wan Station Exit A1). Admission is free.
