Fatal traffic accident in Wong Tai Sin

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Wong Tai Sin this morning (October 26) in which a woman aged about 70 to 80 was killed.

     At about 9.10am, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 52-year-old man was turning right from the carpark of Tsz Wan Shan Shopping Centre into Yuk Wah Street. When approaching the exit of the carpark, the LGV reportedly knocked down the woman who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining head and leg injuries, the woman was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state where she was certified dead at 2pm.

     The deceased, aged about 70 to 80, was about 1.6 metres tall and of medium build with white hair and wearing glasses. No identification document was found on her.

     Active investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are underway.

     Anyone who witnessed the accident or has any information to offer is urged to contact the investigating officers at 2305 7500.
