The Highways Department today (October 26) invited tenders for the contract for "Provision of Barrier-free Access Facilities for Highway Structures - Phase 2" (Contract No. HY/2012/12).
The works are expected to commence in February 2013 and will take about 24 months to complete. The works will mainly comprise:
- construction of 13 lifts and three ramps to six footbridges and five subways; and
- associated electrical and mechanical works, drainage, structural modifications of the footbridges/subways, landscaping and lighting works.
Tender submissions should be placed in the Government Secretariat Tender Box located on the Ground Floor, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar, Hong Kong. Submission of tenders will close at noon on December 7, 2012 (Friday).
The Works Division of the Highways Department has appointed Mott MacDonald Hong Kong Limited to design and supervise the construction works. Interested contractors can obtain the tender forms and other particulars from the office of Mott MacDonald Hong Kong Limited at 20/F, Two Landmark East, 100 How Ming Street, Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
