In response to media enquiries about Digital Broadcasting Corporation Hong Kong Limited (DBC), a spokesman for the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau gives the following reply:
"We noted from media reports today (October 17) that a DBC shareholder had successfully applied to the High Court for appointing Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu as the interim receiver of the DBC.
We have been following up closely on the latest developments of the DBC operation and maintaining contact with its management. We have written to the DBC to seek more details about the matter.
The matter will be handled in accordance with the licence conditions and the Telecommunications Ordinance."
