Following is a transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Education, Mr Eddie Ng Hak-kim, at a media session after attending "Walking with Lingnanians" Fund-raising Walkathon 2012 today (October 14):
Reporter: Given the current circumstances, do you think there is still room for the government to manoeuvre in terms of national education?
Secretary for Education: I believe all parties have learnt from these few months' development, I think this is important, for example, from the Government side we should enhance and strengthen the part of consultation with key stakeholder groups like parents. In this particular event, I believe we can do better in terms of the parental consultation part. The other thing is we need to identify more channels of the new world like the digital world, the social media in order to strengthen the better interface with the stakeholders.
