An inter-departmental exercise simulating a hill fire and mountain rescue operation was held in Tai Tam Country Park, Hong Kong, this morning (October 12).
The departments involved were the Fire Services Department; Hong Kong Police Force; Government Flying Service; Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department; Auxiliary Medical Services; Civil Aid Service; Home Affairs Department; Social Welfare Department; Hospital Authority and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
The exercise aims to enhance co-ordination, communication, command and control capabilities among different departments during hill fire and mountain rescue operations. It also serves to test the effectiveness, efficiency and compatibility of the fire-fighting, rescue and communication equipment being used by different emergency formations.
