Fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok

     Police are investigating a traffic accident in Mong Kok early this morning (October 12) in which a 47-year-old man was killed.

     At 4.54am, a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 57-year-old man was travelling along southbound Nathan Road. When passing Argyle Street, the PLB reportedly knocked down the 47-year-old man who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining serious head injury, the male pedestrian was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 6.30am.

     The PLB driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained pending further enquiries.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West, are underway.
