Fatal traffic accident in Tai Po

     Police are investigating a traffic accident in Tai Po this morning (October 11) in which a 29-year-old man died.

     At about 10.35am, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 41-year-old man was travelling along an unnamed road in Tong Min Tsuen towards Lam Kam Road. When reaching near Lam Kam Road, a tree reportedly fell down and hit the MGV.

     After the impact, the 29-year-old foreign male passenger was trapped inside the car compartment and rescued by firemen. Sustaining serious head injuries, he was rushed to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital where he was certified dead at 12.30pm.

     The driver felt dizzy and was sent to the same hospital in conscious state.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are underway.
