Fatal traffic accident in Wan Chai

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Wan Chai early this morning (October 10) in which a 36-year-old man was killed.

     At about 0.40am, a private car driven by the 36-year-old man was travelling along Gloucester Road eastbound. When reaching near the entrance of Cross Harbour Tunnel, it reportedly lost control and rammed into the railings on roadside.

     The driver was in unconscious and was rushed to the Ruttonjee Hospital where he was certified dead at 1.27am.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island are underway.

     Anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has any information is urged to contact the investigating officers on 3106 8800 or 3106 8848.
