A "Level 0" operational event at Ling Ao Nuclear Power Station (LNPS) was reported today (October 9) on the website of Daya Bay Nuclear Power Operations and Management Co. Ltd. (DNMC), a spokesperson for the Security Bureau said today.
During an adjustment on monitoring system for the fourth unit of the nuclear power plant on October 3, staff of LNPS discovered that there was a short-term loss of display of the monitoring system data. The issue was immediately rectified. This event was classified as a "Level 0" event on the International Nuclear Event Scale, which means that it had no safety significance.
The DNMC disseminates on its website (www.dnmc.com.cn) news pertaining to the operation and safety issues of both the Guangdong Nuclear Power Station and LNPS for information of the general public.
