International conference on Qin dynasty to be held this weekend

     To coincide with the exhibition "The Majesty of All Under Heaven: The Eternal Realm of China's First Emperor", a two-day international conference will be held at the Hong Kong Museum of History this Saturday and Sunday (October 6 and 7). Sixteen experts and scholars from Hong Kong, the Mainland, Japan and the UK have been invited to participate in the conference.

     Running till November 26, the exhibition "The Majesty of All Under Heaven: The Eternal Realm of China's First Emperor" features more than 120 cultural relics from the Qin dynasty, providing visitors not only with a fascinating glimpse of the Qin from its rise to its unification of China, but also with a closer look at the spectacular Terracotta Army, one of the most significant archaeological discoveries of the 20th century. As of yesterday (October 4), about 250,000 visitors had visited the exhibition. Additionally, to complement the exhibition, the museum has organised a series of weekend talks on Qin history and culture, which have been well-received by the public.

     To further enhance public knowledge of the history and culture of the Qin, the museum has organised a two-day conference to be held this weekend. Sixteen experts and scholars will share their research on the history and culture of the Qin dynasty, the terracotta warriors and horses, and the preservation of the historical site and Qin cultural heritage.
