Issuance of Heartwarming Stamps Mini-pane Congratulations to the HK, China Delegation on Winning a Bronze Medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games (with photo)

     Hongkong Post today (October 5) announced that a new stamp issue with the theme of "Congratulations to the Hong Kong, China Delegation on Winning a Bronze Medal in the Women's Keirin Race at the London 2012 Olympic Games - 'Heartwarming Stamps' Mini-pane", together with associated philatelic products, will be released for sale from October 25.

     On August 3, Miss Lee Wai-sze made her debut appearance at the Olympics. With unwavering perseverance, she won the bronze medal in the Women's Keirin Race at the Games of the XXX Olympiad, London 2012, earning Hong Kong's first-ever Olympic medal in cycling and the third Olympic medal in the history of local sport.

     Hongkong Post will issue a Mini-pane and a Souvenir Cover to commemorate the distinguished accomplishments of the Hong Kong, China Delegation at the Games of the XXX Olympiad, London 2012, and to express the community's support for sustainable sports development in Hong Kong. Images on the Mini-pane capture the exciting moments of Miss Lee in action and with the medal in her hand.

     Official Souvenir Covers will be on sale at $8 each at all post offices from October 11. A Prestige Souvenir Cover issued by the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong will also be available at $12 each at all philatelic offices from the same date. The "Heartwarming Stamps" Mini-pane and associated philatelic products will be displayed at the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office and Sha Tin Central Post Office from October 11. Advance orders for servicing self-provided covers will be accepted at all philatelic offices from October 11 to 17.
