Police are investigating a murder and suicide case in Sau Mau Ping yesterday (September 28) in which a 31-year-old man and his 33-year-old wife died.
About 8.15pm yesterday, Police received a report from a 56-year-old woman that her son held a chopper and attacked his wife in a flat at Sau Yin House of Sau Mau Ping Estate. Police officers and firemen sped to scene and located a 34-year-old woman lying unconsciously on the floor inside the flat. Sustaining serious injuries to her head and hands, she was rushed to United Christian Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 8.57pm.
Police officers also found a 31-year-old man fell to the ground from the flat and was certified dead at scene.
After initial investigations, it is believed that the man committed suicide after having a dispute with his wife and attacking her with a chopper.
A chopper in suspected connection with the case was seized at scene.
Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the causes of death of the couple.
Investigations by District Crime Squad of Sau Mau Ping are underway.
