Special traffic arrangements on Hong Kong Island during Chung Yeung Festival

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements in the vicinity of the respective cemeteries on Hong Kong Island to facilitate vehicular traffic and pedestrian movements during Chung Yeung Festival.

     Details of the traffic arrangements are as follows:

Chai Wan
--------

     Traffic control will be implemented on the section of Cape Collinson Road east of Lin Shing Road between 9am and 4pm on October 1, 2, 6, 7, 13 and November 17 and 18.

     The following roads will be closed between 7am and 6pm on October 14, 20, 21, 27, 28 and November 3, 4, 10, 11; and between 7am and 6.30pm on October 23; or when necessary:

(a) A section of Cape Collinson Road east of Lin Shing Road;
(b) The slip road leading from Cape Collinson Road to the Garden of Remembrance and Crematorium, except hearses and vehicles conveying people to attend services at the Crematorium;
(c) The slip road leading to Chai Wan Chinese Permanent Cemetery;
(d) Wan Tsui Lane; and
(e) Cape Collinson Road will be closed to all vehicular traffic except green minibus (GMB) route no. 16A, 16M, 16X and 18M, bus route no. 388 and 389, hearses, funeral vehicles and vehicles with permit.

     Lin Shing Road will also be closed to all vehicular traffic except GMB route no. 16A, 16M, 16X and 18M, bus route no. 388 and 389, hearses, funeral vehicles and vehicles with permit between 7am and 6.30pm on October 23.

     Traffic re-routing in connection with road closure:

(a) The eastern section of Wan Tsui Road between Chai Wan Road and Fei Tsui Road will be re-routed as one-way westbound;
(b) A section of Lin Shing Road from Wan Tsui Road to Cape Collinson Road will be re-routed as one-way southbound; and
(c) A section of Cape Collinson Road from the slip road leading to the Crematorium to Shek O Road will be re-routed as one-way westbound.

     No parking will be permitted along Cape Collinson Road, Lin Shing Road, Wan Tsui Road and a section of Shek O Road between Tai Tam Gap Correctional Institution and Tai Tam Road.

     Taxis, public light buses (PLBs) and private cars will not be permitted to enter Lin Shing Road for Cape Collinson Road except for access to Wan Tsui Estate.  They are allowed to drop off passengers at the PLB stand at Fei Tsui Road near its junction with Wan Tsui Road.  Private cars are not allowed to enter the carpark of Hing Wah Estate (Phase I) from northbound Wan Tsui Road.

     PLBs may be prohibited from entering Tai Tam Road from Chai Wan Road depending on the traffic situation.

     A section of Wan Tsui Road between Chai Wan Road and Fei Tsui Road will be prohibited from picking up and dropping off passengers by PLBs.

     The PLB stand at Fei Tsui Road near its junction with Wan Tsui Road will be suspended.

     The taxi stand at Kut Shing Street outside Chai Wan MTR station will be suspended and relocated to the lay-by outside Block 6 of New Jade Garden.

Pok Fu Lam
----------

     Consort Rise will be re-routed one-way southbound from Victoria Road to Bisney Road between 7am and 5pm on October 20, 21, 23, 27 and 28.

Aberdeen
--------

     Peel Rise in the vicinity of the Aberdeen Chinese Cemetery and the slip road from Shek Pai Wan Road leading to the Aberdeen Chinese Cemetery will be closed to vehicular traffic between 7am and 6pm on October 21 and 23; and between 8am and 4.30pm on October 20, 27 and 28.

Central
-------

     The slip road from Garden Road leading to the office of World Wide Fund for Nature Hong Kong will be closed between 8am and 8pm on October 23 except for taxis and franchised buses.  All parking spaces on the slip road will be suspended between 6am and 8pm on October 23.  The taxi stand on the slip road will be relocated to the lay by outside St. John¡¦s Building on Garden Road between 8am and 8pm on October 23.

The Peak
--------

     The following traffic measures will be implemented between 8am and 8pm on October 23:
(a) All uphill vehicles along Peak Road towards Harlech Road, Lugard Road and Mount Austin Road, except for residents or with permit, will be diverted downhill via the slip road beside the carpark entrance at the Peak Galleria;
(b) Only vehicles with permit will be allowed to enter Lugard Road and Harlech Road;
(c) Mount Austin Road will be accessible by residents only;
(d) A section of westbound Mount Austin Road between its junction with Peak Road and the entrance of Mount Austin Playground may be closed if necessary; and
(c) Metered and motorcycle parking spaces at Victoria Peak Garden and Mount Austin Road will be suspended.
