Senior appointments (with photos)

     The Government announced today (September 28) the following senior appointments:

(a)  Miss Susie Ho Shuk-yee, Commissioner for Transport, will assume the post of Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development (Communications and Technology) on October 8, 2012; and

(b)  Mrs Ingrid Yeung Ho Poi-yan, Deputy Secretary for the Civil Service, will assume the post of Commissioner for Transport on October 8, 2012.

     Commenting on the appointments in the Administrative Service, the Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Paul Tang, said, "The appointees are seasoned Administrative Officers with rich experience in public administration and proven leadership and management skills. I have every confidence that they will continue to serve the community with professionalism and dedication in their new capacities, and ably lead their offices to meet the challenges ahead."

     Brief biographical notes on the two officers are set out below:

Miss Susie Ho Shuk-yee

     Aged 51, Miss Susie Ho Shuk-yee joined the Administrative Service in August 1983 and rose to her present rank of Administrative Officer Staff Grade A in April 2009.

     Miss Ho has served in various bureaux and departments, including the former Urban Services Department, the former Transport Branch, the former Councils and Administration Branch, the Lands Department (later renamed Buildings and Lands Department), the former Lands and Works Branch, the former Monetary Affairs Branch, the former City and New Territories Administration, the former Home Affairs Branch and the Judiciary. She was Deputy Secretary for Financial Services (later renamed Deputy Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury (Financial Services)) from July 1999 to October 2003, Deputy Secretary for Health, Welfare and Food (Welfare) from October 2003 to July 2004, and Deputy Secretary for Health, Welfare and Food (Health) from July 2004 to November 2006. She was Director of Administration and Development in the Department of Justice from November 2006 to April 2012. She has been Commissioner for Transport since July 2012.

Mrs Ingrid Yeung Ho Poi-yan

     Aged 47, Mrs Ingrid Yeung Ho Poi-yan joined the Government in June 1986 as an Executive Officer. She transferred to the Administrative Service in June 1988 and rose to her present rank of Administrative Officer Staff Grade B1 in April 2010.

     Mrs Yeung has served in various bureaux and departments, including the former City and New Territories Administration, the former Constitutional Affairs Branch, the Department of Health, the former Security Branch (later renamed Security Bureau), the Home Affairs Department and the former Environment and Food Bureau (later renamed Health, Welfare and Food Bureau). She served as Principal Assistant Secretary for Health, Welfare and Food (Health) from January 2003 to April 2005, and Deputy Secretary for Health, Welfare and Food (Health) (later renamed Deputy Secretary for Food and Health (Health)) from April 2005 to August 2008. She has been Deputy Secretary for the Civil Service since October 2008.
