CS concludes visit to Beijing (with photos)

     The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, today (September 25) continued her visit programme in Beijing by calling on the National Bureau of Statistics and the All-China Women's Federation and visiting the Palace Museum.

     In the morning, Mrs Lam met with the Commissioner of the National Bureau of Statistics, Mr Ma Jiantang, to better understand the Mainland population census. She also expressed the intention of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government to enhance collecting data and information on Hong Kong people living in the Mainland.

     This was followed by a meeting with the Vice-President of the All-China Women's Federation, Ms Chen Xiurong, with a focus on experience sharing on women's issues in Hong Kong and the Mainland, including the work of the Women's Commission in Hong Kong to champion women's causes.

     Mrs Lam also visited the Palace Museum in the afternoon and met with the Director of the Palace Museum, Dr Shan Jixiang, to learn about the operation of the museum and tour the museum's facilities.

     Having concluded her visit to Beijing, Mrs Lam will return to Hong Kong in the evening.
