Five men arrested for murder

     Police today (September 24) arrested five men suspected to be in connection with the murder case in Yuen Long yesterday (September 23).

     About 10pm yesterday, Police received a report that about 20 to 30 Non-Ethnic Chinese (NEC) men were fighting with each other in a basketball court near Nam Pin Wai, Yuen Long. Police arrived the scene and located an injured male NEC aged 19, who was rushed to Pok Oi Hospital for medical treatment and was subsequently certified dead. Two other injured male  NECs, aged 20 and 25, were also located at Pok Oi Hospital. They were later transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital.

     After investigation, Police arrested five NEC men aged from 20 to 25 in suspected connection with the case in Yuen Long and Tuen Mun respectively this evening. They will be detained overnight pending further enquiries.

     A post-mortem examination will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death.

     Active investigations by Regional Crime Unit of New Territories North are underway.
