Appointment of Chief Staff Officer, Auxiliary Medical Service (with photo)

     The Government announced today (September 21) the appointment of Mr Hui Wai-kwong as the Chief Staff Officer, Auxiliary Medical Service with effect from September 24, 2012.

     The Chief Staff Officer is the head of the civil service establishment of the Auxiliary Medical Service. Mr Hui, the Government Transport Manager, had been selected for the post through in-service appointment earlier.

     Commenting on Mr Hui's appointment, the Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Paul Tang, said, "Mr Hui has demonstrated leadership and administrative skills. I am confident that he will lead the Auxiliary Medical Service to meet the challenges ahead."

     Brief biographical notes on Mr Hui are set out below:

     Aged 52, Mr Hui joined the Government as an Assistant Immigration Officer in August 1982. He was then appointed as an Ambulance Officer in June 1985 and promoted to Senior Ambulance Officer in November 1990. He was later appointed as Government Transport Manager in June 1994.
