Police appeal for witnesses to fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok

     Police are appealing to the public for witnesses to a fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok on August 30 in which a 96-year-old man died.

     At about 1.30pm on that day, a light goods vehicle driven by a 42-year-old man was travelling along westbound Argyle Street. When turning right into Tong Mei Road, it reportedly knocked down the 96-year-old man who was crossing the road.

     The pedestrian sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was certified dead at 9.46am on September 1.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are underway.

     Anyone who saw the accident or who has any information to offer is urged to contact the investigating officers at 2773 5258 or 2773 5200.
