Police are investigating a traffic accident in Sau Mau Ping last night (September 10) in which a 31-year-old woman died.
At about 11.15pm yesterday, a taxi driven by a 67-year-old man was travelling along Hong Ning Road towards Kwun Tong. When approaching the junction of Chun Wah Road, it reportedly hit the 31-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries, she was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she was certified dead at 11.50pm.
The taxi driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is still being detained for enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are underway.
Police urged anyone who witnessed the accident or has any information to offer to contact the investigating officers on 2305 7500 or 2305 7570.
