CE congratulates HK team on winning first London Paralympic medal

     The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, today (September 1) congratulated the Hong Kong delegation for winning the first London 2012 Paralympic medal.

     Swimmer Au Kai-lun won bronze in the men's 100m backstroke, S14 final event.

     Mr Leung said, "Our athlete has fully shown his resilience and perseverance when faced with challenges. He is commendable for instilling in the Hong Kong people the spirit of being undaunted in the pursuit of excellence."

     The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, also extended his congratulations to the delegation. He said he hopes that our athletes will continue to strive hard in the remaining events and earn more glory for Hong Kong.
