The seminar was held as part of the SmartHK event organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and gave participants information about Hong Kong's advantages in the professional services industry and how Hong Kong could assist Mainland enterprises to "go global".

The seminar highlighted Hong Kong's business environment in terms of branding and design, and examined the advantages that make it an ideal platform for Mainland enterprises to expand into the international market. The Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion, Miss Victoria Tang, delivered welcome speech at the seminar.

Miss Tang said "As the capital of Zhejiang province, Hangzhou is an important transportation hub for south-eastern China and a key city in the Yangtze River Delta. Hong Kong and Hangzhou have close ties in terms of trade and investment and we are the major source of foreign direct investment into Hangzhou. Hong Kong offers convenience for Mainland enterprises aspiring to expand their business and 'go global'. These advantages include its sophisticated financial system, well-developed infrastructure and simple tax regime, plus talent in different sectors with international perspectives.

She added, "Hong Kong has amassed a ready pool of people well-versed in branding and marketing strategies. Hong Kong can add to Mainland export strengths with the necessary know-how and cater to the demands of Mainland enterprises wishing to 'go global'."

At the seminar, the Head of Creative Industries at Invest Hong Kong, Ms Doris Fong; the Creative Director of Tommy Li Design Workshop Ltd, Tommy Li; the Chairman and CEO of WE Marketing Group, Viveca Chan; and the Chairman of the Broad of the Goodbaby International Holdings Ltd, Song Zhenghuan, shared their experiences of Hong Kong's business environment.
