Delegation of Olympics' Mainland gold medallists starts HK visit (with photos/video)

     A delegation of the London Olympics' Mainland gold medallists has arrived in Hong Kong today (August 24) to start a three-day visit.

     Led by the President of Chinese Olympic Committee, Mr Liu Peng, the 70-strong delegation arrived at the Hong Kong International Airport around noon. They were welcomed by the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam; the Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mr Li Gang; and the Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing.

     Mrs Lam expressed tremendous gratitude to the gold medallists for their visit to Hong Kong soon after the London Olympics to share their honour and joy with the people in Hong Kong.
 
     Some 200 students waved flags to greet the delegation at the airport apron. Their representatives also presented bouquets to the leader of the delegation and the athletes.
