Proposed road works for future West Rail Long Ping Station (South) property development gazetted

     The Government published a Gazette notice today (August 24) on proposed road works in relation to West Rail Long Ping Station (South) property development. The proposed road works will serve to facilitate future property development to the south of Long Ping Station, and improve traffic conditions in the neighbouring areas.

     Proposed road works are as follows:

(a) construction of a section of a footpath, a footbridge and light goods vehicle parking spaces;
(b) permanent closure and conversion of sections of the existing carriageways into footpaths, traffic islands or light goods vehicle parking spaces;
(c) permanent closure and conversion of sections of the existing footpaths into carriageways and light goods vehicle parking spaces;
(d) permanent closure and conversion of the existing traffic islands and planter into carriageways;
(e) permanent closure and conversion of the existing light goods vehicle parking spaces into carriageway and footpath;
(f) permanent/temporary closure of sections of the existing carriageways, footpaths, traffic islands and light goods vehicle parking spaces; and
(g) ancillary works including pedestrian crossing facilities, associated utilities and reinstatement works.

     The plan and scheme are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours:

     Any person who wishes to object to the proposed works or their use, or both, should write to the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 22/F, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar, Hong Kong, on or before October 23, 2012.
