Reminder to ticket holders of Mainland Olympic Gold Medallists' Sports Demonstrations and Extravaganza
****************************************************

A delegation of Mainland athletes who won gold medals at the London 2012 Olympic Games will visit Hong Kong between August 24 and 26. The gold medallists will give sports demonstrations in the morning of August 25 (Saturday) and take part in an extravaganza in the evening on the same day.

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) advised ticket holders of the two events to allow adequate time to arrive at the venues and be seated before show time for the smooth running of the events.

Badminton and table tennis demonstrations by the gold medallists will be staged at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Wan Chai between 9.30am and 11.30am on August 25, while a diving demonstration will be held at Kowloon Park Swimming Pool in Tsim Sha Tsui between 10am and 11.30am. Ticket holders should arrive at the venues and be seated one hour before the show starts.

The sports demonstrations will also feature exchanges between the gold medallists and young Hong Kong athletes. Spectators will be selected by drawing lots to participate in the sports-for-fun sessions with the gold medallists (not applicable to the diving demonstration). As there is a chance for spectators to join the sports-for-fun sessions, those interested in participating are advised to wear sports shoes and sportswear.

At the sports demonstrations there will also be lucky draws for the spectators, with prizes including badminton and table tennis rackets autographed by members of the national badminton and table tennis teams, as well as T-shirts autographed by the national diving team.

On the same day after the sports demonstrations, the Mainland Olympic Gold Medallists Extravaganza will be held at Hong Kong Stadium at 5pm and will be attended by all the Mainland gold medallists. They will share their experience with the audience and participate in different performances. Gold medallists in gymnastics and badminton will also give demonstrations. Ticket holders will be admitted to the Hong Kong Stadium from 3pm.

There will be free seating for the two sports demonstrations and the extravaganza. Spectators should take public transport as far as possible and avoid driving to the venues. They are requested to observe the house rules set by the department and produce valid admission tickets upon entry.

While all tickets for the sports demonstrations have been sold out; members of the public can continue to purchase tickets for the extravaganza at URBTIX outlets, on the Internet via the URBTIX website www.urbtix.hk or via the telephone credit card booking hotline 2111 5999. Both the sports demonstrations and the extravaganza will be broadcast live on TV.

In the event of inclement weather on the day of the sports demonstrations and extravaganza, members of the public should pay attention to the announcements on radio and television for special arrangements.
