The Commissioner of Police, Mr Tsang Wai-hung, is paying a visit to Beijing from August 20 to 22.
During his visit, he called on the Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, Mr Wang Guangya, and briefed him on the crime situation in Hong Kong.
Mr Tsang also held a working meeting with the Vice Minister of Public Security, Mr Chen Zhimin, to exchange views on co-operation between the police forces in Hong Kong and the Mainland to tackle cross-boundary crimes, including telephone and internet scams and organised crimes. They also discussed about anti-terrorism measures. Both sides agreed to further strengthen co-operation and maintain close liaison to combat cross-boundary crimes.
