Special traffic and transport arrangements for Yu Lan Parade in Kwai Chung and Tsuen Wan this Thursday

     The Transport Department (TD) today (August 20) reminded the public that special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Kwai Chung and Tsuen Wan this Thursday (August 23) to facilitate the holding of the Yu Lan Parade.

     The Parade will depart from Tai Wo Hau Estate Playground No. 7 at about 9.45am. It will take the route via Tai Wo Hau Road, Texaco Road, Sha Tsui Road, Tai Ho Road, Sai Lau Kok Road, Wai Tsuen Road, Miu Kong Street, Shing Mun Road, Castle Peak Road, an unnamed road near Tsuen Wan Market Street Refuse Collection Point, Tsuen Wan Market Street, Chung On Street, Tak Hoi Street, Tak Wah Street, Kwan Mun Hau Street, Sha Tsui Road, Texaco Road, Tai Wo Hau Road, Tai Ha Street and Tai Wo Hau Road with its destination being Tai Wo Hau Estate Playground No. 7.

     Intermittent traffic controls will be implemented along the route during the Parade.

     A total of 27 bus routes and 21 green minibus routes operating in the affected areas will be temporarily diverted if necessary. Temporary bus stops will be provided on Yeung Uk Road westbound near Wang Lung Street, Yeung Uk Road westbound opposite to Yeung Uk Road Market, Sha Tsui Road eastbound outside New Haven and Castle Peak Road westbound near Chung On Street. The public transport operators concerned will display notices to inform passengers of the temporary arrangements.

     Motorists should avoid driving to the affected areas. In case of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and take heed of directions of the Police in the affected areas.

     The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures whenever necessary. Motorists and the public are advised to be alert to the latest traffic news on TV and radio.
