     As Typhoon Kai Tak is moving away from Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Observatory replaced the No 8 Southeast Gale or Storm Signal, issued at 10.15pm last night (August 16), by the No. 3 Strong Wind Signal at 6.20am this morning (August 17).

     Service of public transport has gradually resumed normal.

     According to the Hospital Authority, as at 6am, a 56-year-old woman has sought medical treatment at the Accident and Emergency Departments at public hospitals. She was admitted and her condition was stable.

     Six reports of tree damage were received by the 1823 Government Call Centre.

     During the typhoon period, no report of flooding or landslide has been received.

     The Home Affairs Department has opened 24 temporary shelters where a total of 159 people have sought refuge.

     The Airport Authority Hong Kong reported that from 10.15pm last night to 6am this morning, 20 arrival flights and 14 departure flights have been delayed, while four arrival flights and two departure flights cancelled.
