Police have arrested a 29-year-old woman in connection with a murder in Cheung Sha Wan this morning (August 11).
At about 6.40am, Police received a report that a baby was found on the ground outside Chung Hou House of Lei Cheng Uk Estate.
Police sped to the scene and found a two-month-old baby girl lying unconscious on the ground. The baby was sent to Caritas Medical Centre for medical treatment and was certified dead at 6.59am.
Police conducted investigations at the scene and located a 29-year-old woman inside a flat on the estate. Initial enquiries revealed that the woman threw the baby to the ground from a corridor of Chung Hou House and threatened to jump from height.
The woman was arrested for murder and was sent to Kwai Chung Hospital for examination.
A post-mortem examination will be arranged later to ascertain the cause of death of the baby girl.
Active investigations by the District Crime Squad of Sham Shui Po are under way.
