Appeal for more type A blood donation

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:
In view of hospitals' persistently high demand for type A blood lately, the Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) has appealed to those who are in the type A blood group to donate blood as soon as possible. To ensure an adequate supply, some 100 type A blood group donors are needed to donate blood every day.
For enquiries about blood donation, the public can call the BTS hotline at 2710 1234 or visit its website at www.ha.org.hk/rcbts .
Every minute counts in saving lives. Many patients are waiting for those who are in the type A blood group to act immediately.
