Three charities will hold flag sales today (August 4) from 7am to 12.30pm. They are, on Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong Association for Cleft Lip and Palate; in Kowloon, Hok Yau Club; and in the New Territories, Society for Abandoned Animals Limited, a spokesman for the Social Welfare Department (SWD) said.
Arrangements have been made with the charities to help people distinguish between the three flag-selling activities.

Details of the charitable fund-raising activities covered by Public Subscription Permit issued by SWD have also been uploaded to a one-stop portal (www.gov.hk/en/theme/fundraising/today/) launched by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer.
If fraudulent flag day activities are suspected, people should not make any donation and should immediately report the matter to the police.
