Vacancy in Sha Tin District Council

The Government declared by notice in the Gazette today (August 3) the vacancy of an elected seat in the Sha Tin District Council (On Tai Constituency).
As a bankruptcy order was made against former Sha Tin District Council member Mr Yeung Cheung-li, his office had become vacant on July 18, 2012, in accordance with section 26(c) of the District Councils Ordinance (Cap 547).
The Registration and Electoral Office will arrange for a by-election.
