11 building plans approved in June

     The Buildings Department approved 11 building plans in June, with four on Hong Kong Island, one in Kowloon and six in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, nine were for commercial developments, and two were for community services developments.

     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 12 building projects that, when completed, will provide 40,122 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 589 units, and 23,042 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 16 building projects.

     The department also issued 17 occupation permits, with one on Hong Kong Island, eight in Kowloon and eight in the New Territories.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 26,846 square metres, involving 182 units, and 120,342 square metres for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of new buildings completed in June totalled about $3.45 billion.

     In addition, 13 demolition consents involving 13 building structures were issued.

     The department received 3,470 reports about unauthorised building works in June, and issued 675 removal orders on unauthorised works.
