A total of 12 nomination forms for the 2012 Legislative Council Election were received today (July 26) by the Returning Officers for the five geographical constituencies and the 29 functional constituencies.
This brings to 102 the total number of nomination forms received since the start of the nomination period on July 18, which will continue until July 31.
The Returning Officer for the Education functional constituency received a notice of withdrawal of candidature from one nominee today.
A spokesman for the Registration and Electoral Office advised nominees to submit their nominations as early as possible to allow time to correct any mistakes in the nomination forms before the close of nominations on July 31.
