Here is an item of interest to swimmers.
Eleven beaches in Southern District and Islands District are now temporarily closed until further notice for maintenance works for shark prevention nets damaged by Typhoon Vicente. Red flags have been hoisted at the beaches. Beach-goers are advised not to swim at the beaches.
These beaches include Deep Water Bay Beach, Big Wave Bay Beach, Shek O Beach and Turtle Cove Beach in Southern District, and Hung Shing Yeh Beach, Lo So Shing Beach, Cheung Chau Tung Wan Beach, Pui O Beach, Upper Cheung Sha Beach, Lower Cheung Sha Beach and Tong Fuk Beach in Islands District.
