The Hong Kong Observatory issued the Increasing Gale or Storm Signal No. 9 at 11.20 pm tonight (July 23).
According to the Hospital Authority, as at 11pm, a total of 34 people, including 16 males and 18 females, aged between 4 and 86, have sought medical treatment at the Accident and Emergency Departments at public hospitals. Fourteen of them were admitted.
One hundred and eighteen reports of fallen trees were received by the Development Bureau, 98 by the Highways Department and two by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
The Home Affairs Department has so far opened 23 temporary shelters, 225 people have sought refuge at the shelters.
Fifteen passenger flights have been cancelled and 212 delayed as at 10 pm.
