The Hong Kong Observatory issued the No. 8 Northeast Gale or Storm Signal at 5.40 pm today (July 23).
As at 8pm, a total of 7 people, including 3 men and 4 women, aged between 25 and 79, have sought medical treatment at the Accident and Emergency Departments at public hospitals. One of them was already discharged after treatment.
On cases of fallen trees, the Development Bureau has so far received 35 reports and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department two.
The Home Affairs Department has so far opened 20 temporary shelters, 147 people have sought refuge at the shelters.
On air traffic, 11 passenger flights have been cancelled and 121 delayed as at 8 pm.
No report of flooding or landslide has been received.
The signal is expected to remain in force overnight.
