Regarding a rehabilitation ward in Kowloon Hospital in which some patients had infected with Norovirus recently, the hospital announced the following updates today (July 23):
Three more female patients (aged 64 to 90) of the concerned ward have presented with vomiting and diarrhoea symptoms. Appropriate viral tests have been arranged for the patients and their results all were positive to Norovirus. The patients are being treated under isolation and are in stable condition.
Admission to the ward has been suspended and restricted visiting to the ward has been imposed. Infection control measures have already been stepped up according to established guidelines. All other patients in the concerned ward are under close surveillance.
The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
