Attention Duty Announcer, Radio and TV Stations:
Please broadcast the following special announcement immediately, and repeat it at frequent intervals:
"The Social Welfare Department announces that as Tropical Cyclone Signal No.8 will be issued, all child care centres, elderly services centres and day rehabilitation units, including sheltered workshops and day activity centres, will be closed. Members of the public are advised to go to the centres which their children and family members are attending and make arrangements for their safe return home as soon as possible."
